Description
This is a Steinway Model D, Nine-Foot Piano, built in 1993. It was considered by Steinway to be an especially good instrument and was therefore not sold, but kept by Steinway to be used in concerts for the first part of its life (that's why you see the 384 in one of the pictures - identifying it as one of the Concert Division instruments). It is even signed by the legendary Franz Mohr, the longtime head of Steinway's concert technicians (and Horowitz's personal technician). The instrument is in great shape, inside and out. It has brand-new Abel hammers and shanks. The case is virtually perfect, and the sound and action are comparable to those of pianos that are currently on the Concert Division roster. Steinway's best concert grands are not sold, but used for concerts. The Model D's that are put on the market, however, cost almost $110,000. The starting price for this one, $61,000, is obviously much less. Call (646) 643-0866, or email me at dsaliamonas@yahoo.com to speak about the instrument, shipping, payment, etc.
